About Esco Alley Art
The Vision
ESCO ALLEY ART is a volunteer group that was established to create publicly available, easily accessible outdoor art galleries. Working under the auspices of the Escondido Downtown Business Association, the group brings together the artists, building owners, and related businesses needed to generate these galleries. The group arranges financial support through grants and individual donations.

Visit Esco Alley Art
We’ve been working hard these past 3 years bringing over 70 murals to Downtown Escondido. Our 2021, and 2022 seasons centered on the alleys south of Grand Avenue between Maple and Juniper Street. In 2023 we moved across to the north side of Grand.
Come visit us and make an afternoon out of it, enjoying not only the murals but our wonderful restaurants, breweries, and shops along Grand Avenue!
Know any Downtown Escondido property owners with wall space that would make for a perfect outdoor gallery? We’re evaluating potential sites for murals and would love for interested property owners to email our site coordination team at art@escoalleyart.com.

Community Unity
Imagine students of all ages, K through 12, cooperating to create a work of art for public display.
This idea has been nurtured within ESCO ALLEY ART for some time. The 2024 Art, Culture and
Creativity Month in Escondido made it possible.
Funds were granted by the Public Art Commission. The Calvin Christian School agreed to participate, rapidly changing its curriculum to accommodate the project. The art teams were formed under the supervision of the school’s art teachers and the work began.
The theme was COMMUNITY UNITY.
The original idea involving a competition between the teams was discarded, simply because all the works of art contained elements important to the theme. In the end these elements were combined in the resulting mural, which is printed on laminated aluminum substrate measuring 20 by 10 feet.
The mural can presently be viewed in the alley between Broadway and Maple Street south of Grand Avenue in Escondido.
